1. What is a FAQ?

FAQ is freqeuntly asked questions. Tech people love TLAs (see the Glossary for the definition of TLA) 

2. How do I use the FAQ?

You can use the FAQ to find answers to many questions that users ask repeatedly. Search for your question to see if the answer is in the FAQ?

3. Do I need anti-virus protection on my computer?

The answer to this question is emphatically YES! Unfortunately there are malicious people who just look for the opportunity to harm other people. These people create code which can harm your machine, and use your information to furhter do harm. Anti-virus protection is absolutely vital!

4. What is a good anti-virus software?

There are many, many companies offering anti-virus protection. Some sort of protection should have been included on your machine. If not, do an internet serach for anti-virus protection software, and many options will be displayed.

5. What is an internet search?

Open Internet Explorer from your desktop, and type in google.com in the address bar. This will take you to the Google search page. Type in your question (or try typing in your telephone number??). Hundreds, if not thousands of answers will be displayed. Click on any underlined entry (computercreatrix.com) and you will be taken to that website.

6. How do I get email?

Your Internet Service Provider will provide an email link, and there are MANY free email sites (hotmail.com, yahoo.com, gmail.com

7. Why do I need a password?

Passwords protect you from someone "hijacking" your name. If you use a password (that is not easy-- your birthday, kid's name, phone number) it will keep your digital reputation more secure.

8. Is my Paypal payment secure?

Paypal uses several layers of security to ensure that your payment information is secure.

9. How do I search for files on my computer?

Open your desktop and click with the RIGHT mouse button on MY COMPUTER. A dropdown is displayed and you need to click on Explorer. This will bring up a list of the drives on your computer ( C Drive, CD Drive or DVD drive and removable drives). Click on your c drive and it will display all the files and folders on your c drive. You can click on search and look for a file name, a file containing a certain word or phrase, or search by the date you created or updated the file.
